
Larry W. Waterfield is an author, journalist, illustrator. He was born and raised in Missouri and studied history at the University of Missouri--Columbia. He received a degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. For decades he worked as a reporter, editor and columnist for magazines and newspapers. He operated a news bureau in Washington, D.C. for 25 years. He illustrated articles and books, and produced a series of award-winning television documentaries on European cities.
He has reported from 49 states, 30 foreign countries. He has collections of illustrations on railroads, the American South and West. cities, history, architecture, Paris and Rome as twinned cities, and more. He is married to Eva de Veer, originally from Holland They have 4 children and step children, 7 grandchildren. They live in Fairfax County, Virginia.
